i keep forgetting that my cat died.

Loves, the cat, passed about a month ago, maybe more. No one is certain of her time of death or whereabouts when she entered the gates of heaven. It is simply known that Loves led a lazy life with most difficulties occuring in the early days when she birthed 5 kittens affectionately named Sprite, Cola, Dr. Pepper, Mocha, and Ginger. As a kitten, Loves enjoyed accompanying a young ms nasty wherever her tomboy adventures took her. One incident occurred when ms nasty had to go to summer camp up in the Santa Cruz mountains. Being that ms nasty had just received Loves the cat as a birthday gift from her aunt Sabrina, she wanted the beloved feline to accompany her every move. For some ungodly reason, it was thought to be ok that the cat come along for the drive up the hilly roads and through the windy trees to the tipity top where the camp awaited. Throughout the duration of the trip, ms nasty experienced excessive clawing, scratching, and whining from the uncomfortable kitty. Upon arrival in bumfuck mountain retreat land, Loves the cat unexpectedly puked all over the unsuspecting ms nasty. Ms nasty never forgot this and as a result avoided bringing Loves along for adventures. The years were good to Loves the cat as she eventually reigned supreme over the household, tho not much attention was paid to her since her kingdom was outside. Loves the cat grew old, thin, and withered yet she still recognized ms nasty as she returned home from college and ventured outdoors calling her pet with a familiar melody created by ms nasty as a child when she realized that altho Loves the cat may not understand english, she'd be able to recognize a melody associated with her name, therefore enabling ms nasty to call the cat to her side. Lo-uuhhvvvs, she would call, and each year the cat emerged excited to see her long lost companion. They would share a few moments as ms nasty petted her pet but upon realizing that Loves the cat shed entirely too much hair, the ocd ms nasty would get up and return to spending time with the family she seldom saw. Time aged Loves the cat and eventually the family knew she would soon pass on. Tho ms nasty was aware that she had chosen a favorite when a new member to the family, chewy, a puppy lhasa apso was welcomed into the home, she still felt a closeness with Loves the cat. Their time together grew further and further apart, with more time being spent with the selfish pup. Finally the day came when the patriarch of the family that supported Loves the cat phoned his daughter ms nasty to inform her that it was believed that her beloved pet was dead. Tho no body was found and no trace of foul play uncovered, it is acceptable to believe that Loves the cat simply grew too old and did like most respectful dying felines do and disappeared to die peacefully somewhere. The news was not shocking to ms nasty, tho to this day she often forgets that her companion is no longer with us until something triggers her memory and forces her to accept the reality of this harsh world.
